DESIRE

After giving birth, I struggled with breastfeeding as my milk failed to flow for the first two days. I had to supplement with baby formula. However, I was advised to persist through the challenges and let my newborn continue sucking even when the milk wasn't flowing. With time, the milk production increased, and my baby became chubbier.

This experience reminds me of my spiritual journey as a new believer. When I first committed my life to Christ, I was eager to learn and started studying the book of Revelation. However, I found it difficult to understand at first. (perhaps not the ideal starting point, right?)

As I continued studying the Bible, I began to understand more and more. The Scriptures gave me guidance, correction, and instruction. Just like how a baby grows through breastfeeding, we can grow spiritually by continuing to engage with the Word of God.

In 1 Peter 2:2, it says, "Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment." If you want to grow spiritually, you need to persistently engage with the Word of God like a baby sucks until the milk flows.
